Sleeping Beauties

I have heard the term “attached at the hip” quite a bit from my friends and family when talking about me, Marleigh and Maizie. What’s funny is they don’t even know the half of it.

When I am at home, Maizie and Marleigh do not let me out of their sight. It is always heartwarming to see their little faces when I walk in the front door, but, sometimes they can be a little too clingy.

Especially when it comes to bedtime. Marleigh and Maizie refuse to sleep with out having some form of contact with me. I am going to assume it was because it was chilly, but, last night, it was a little overwhelming.

I could not move without practically rolling over Marleigh. Every time a shifted just a bit, she would pick up her head and shoot me a glance that certainly made me reconsider my desire to change positions. All night, she was glued to my side, conformed perfectly to the position I was in - regardless of how uncomfortable I was.

Maizie, on the other hand, prefers pillows. Not her own pillow, though, but mine. She will curl up right on top of my head, leaving me maybe three inches of sleepable pillow room. What is my absolute favorite is when Maizie will rest her precious little nose right next to my ear.

Needless to say, there have been mornings where I have woken up absolutely exhausted because of playing Twister all night with my two sleeping beauties. Still, no matter how tired they may make me, I hate the nights I don’t have them warming my head or curled under my chin.
