Regular readers know that we are preparing to move to Colorado from New York. We have family there and it's easy to move an Internet business.
Since we lost our beloved Carmie, we've toyed with the idea of a new dog. Not necessarily a puppy (although that idea is not off of the table), but another pet that can go for walks with us. That would be a dog, of course. One that likes cats.
Every time I mention this to Wabby, our 16 year old cat, she gives me the evil eye and turns her back on me. No, really, It's as if she can understand what I'm saying! I've tried mixing up the conversation... "Wabby, what if we get a cat, instead of a dog? Would you like a kitty friend?"
This gives her even more reason to stare at me as if I've lost my mind. Really, another cat is more of an issue than a dog. She's had a dog around regularly, till Carmie left us. But, when other cats come into the picture (when my daughter brings her three cats to visit), Wabby gets quite perturbed. Mind you, she does nothing more than sit Queenly perched on the bed in the master bedroom (her domain) and stare a
t the intruders.
If one of them is brave enough to jump up on the bed - and all of them are - she merely turns slightly to see what they're going to do, and she might let a little hiss out.
Wabby is a low-key kind of cat. She prefers the quiet route. However, I do not know what she will do if we introduce a new dog to the house.
Especially a puppy. I guess we'll find out cause we're getting a dog, eventually.
