On the Move

MyCarmie For those who read the Scratchings & Sniffings blog, I apologize. Today I want to talk about our upcoming move, and you've likely already heard some of this.

Here's the scoop - Yvonne and Tom and Wabby Wibby are moving to CO! Yay! We visit CO every year because my daughter moved there about 13 years ago and wouldn't come home, even when she had my first grandchild and I insisted she bring Miah to NY to be closer to me!

CO has a lot to offer us. It's very pet-friendly, for one thing. Chloe, my daughter, has a Greyhound, Twiggy, that she takes just about everywhere with her - and no one, not even shop-keepers, mind. Dogs are pretty much welcome everywhere.

The dog parks are outstanding - I know this because I've been to Twiggy's dog park. This year, Chloe says, another Greyhound showed up and he confused the heck out of Twiggy! He was the only dog thatNew-twiggy-at-home could outrun her! And, every year, the town my daughter lives near has a great dog event called Bark in the Park, which we did a post on this year.

Now, we don't...as yet...have another dog. We have the beloved Wabby Wibby (also known as Pandora, the cat) and I am not sure about introducing a new dog at the same time I am moving my kitty cross-country to a new world. IF we get the kind of house we want, it will have a fully enclosed backyard, and maybe (with supervision) Wabby will get to go outside. She does go outdoors occasionally PandoraReading2 here, with me in attendance...and it delights her. In CO, I expect the smells and air and atmosphere, as well as the new neighborhood, will be fascinating to her.

Dr. Larry is helping me manage this move with Wabby. I can pack the books and furniture, and get the dishes to CO all in one piece, and I can even get Wabby there in one piece, but I do want to be especially careful about keeping her safe and comfortable DURING the move. The house will be on a truck, of course, but Tom and I, and Wabby, will be driving.

I wonder how Wabby will like being on a road trip! Stay tuned. I'll share.
