Now that the holidays are over, for most of us -- some of us are still clinging to that pine smell, I know...
but now that we're back to 'normal', the new puppy or kitten you gave your kids is starting to be considered a real part of the family, I'm sure.
If you got your new pet from a shelter, or the local Humane Society, I applaud you. However, your sweet pet is one of the lucky ones. There are still dozens of warm, soft, energetic, fun, silly, and lonely pets back at the shelter that need our help.
I discovered this really wonderful site recently and thought I would share. The Animal Shelter Tips site has excellent information on how we can all participate in helping out at shelters, beyond adopting pets. There are "ways you can volunteer" and how "kids can hlep pets."
Perhaps one of the best links is the one to the page on how and where to Apply for Grants. I hope you will share this site with your local shelters.
And, I hope you considered pet health insurance. Our pet health insurance has the American Animal Hospital Associaton's seal of acceptance. Insurance is cost-effective and covers more than you think. We welcome your visits and your questions.
