PurinaCare Interview: Thanks to Janet Tobiassen Crosby, DVM

PurinaCareLogo Over at About.com, one of the best resources online for any content - there is an interview with PurinaCare's President and Chief Operating Officer, David B. Goodnight, DVM, with the Veterinary Medicine expert, Janet Tobiassen Crosby.

I thought it worth citing and mentioning here, on Christmas Day in the morning. As many families around the company welcome new pets into their house, let's listen to Goodnight's words on the reason Purina went into the pet health insurance business:

Asked how long Purina has been in business, Dr. Goodnight replied, "The parent company, Nestle Purina PetCare Company (NPPC) has been in the petcare business for over 85 years. PurinaCare® Pet Health Insurance, Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NPPC, was incorporated in early 2008. PurinaCare® Pet Health Insurance has been in the development stage since 2005, and the first policy was sold in June 2008. We are located in San Antonio, Texas."

Asked about wellness plans, here's what Dr. Goodnight had to say, " Yes, one of the two plans, PurinaCare® plus Preventive Care, has wellness benefits."

Dr. Crosby then asks, "What types or levels of health insurance medical plans are offered?"

To which Dr. Goodnight replies, "Both PurinaCare® insurance plans have comprehensive accident and illness coverage. One of the plans, PurinaCare® plus Preventive Care, has additional wellness care benefits. Both plans offer a range of deductibles and the high deductible policies ($500 and $1,000) have received the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Seal of Acceptance." There is more to this conversation between two veterinary professionals - that I hope you will take the time to visit and read. PurinaCare pet health insurance is affordable - the goal is best of health for our pets. Visit Janet Tobiassen Crosby, DVM at About.com and see her other articles on the subject.

Dr. Larry and I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and A Bright New Year.
