There is no doubt that Spring has sprung. As a pet owner, I am sure you can tell by your pet’s sudden craving to be outside, active – and inquisitive. When the weather is nice, our pet’s have a natural tendency to want to explore. Even predominately indoor pets will become more active and more eager to play.
 

Go Merry All the Way

Whether you are going over the river or through the woods, there are certain precautions to take if you are traveling with a four-legged Santa’s little helper. Travel can be very stressful on your pet (and you), but planning ahead and making the appropriate arrangements for the trip can make everyone merry and bright.

Before any plans are made for your pet, make sure it is healthy enough to travel in the first place. If the pet is very old or very young and not yet trained, or if it has been sick or to the veterinarian several times recently, it is best to leave your pet in familiar surroundings rather than moving them to unfamiliar turf.

Hurricane Pet Preparedness

The 2011 Atlantic Hurricane Season began June 1 and is expected to be a busy one, forecasting a total of 15 named tropical storms, eight of which will attain hurricane status and four of which will attain major hurricane status (Category 3 or higher). In fact, just this morning, Tropical storm Arlene, the first named storm of the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season, made landfall on Mexico's eastern coast.
