Georgia Roose struggled over buying insurance for her adopted Border Collie, Bella. Most things she read said if you could afford to pay for the treatments and money was not a problem then pet health insurance was not for you. Georgia’s previous dog, Anni, was 13 when she died. It wasn’t until the last year of Anni’s life did the veterinary bills start adding up as Anni battled cancer. When Georgia adopted Bella in 2009, she couldn’t help but wonder ‘what if’.

Claim of the Month: Top Dogs - Goose and Maverick *

For April's Claim of the Month, I want to share a very common situation many pet owners are finding themselves in. Elizabeth Martin, like most pet owners, was no stranger to the rising cost of veterinary care. About 10 years ago, her Golden Retriever, Cessna, had to have Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) surgery, a procedure that carried a $3,000 price tag. An Unsweet Discovery

March’s claim of the month is in support of National Poison Prevention Week, March 20-26. There are lots of toxins that could be lurking in your living room, bathroom or kitchen that could cause serious health problems for Fluffy or Fido and may even prove fatal. Many things that we consider “safe” may actually be toxic to our pets. Our claim of the month is a perfect example.
